It’s about to be a lot easier to “taste the rainbow!” The Wrigley Company, which produces Skittles, recently announced a lineup of new, limited-edition flavors of the popular bite-sized candies that are slated to be released during summer 2019.
The original Skittles flavors are strawberry, orange, lemon, green apple and grape, but the tasty trio of new treats, which will be available at select retailers, are designed to give consumers a burst of summer-specific flavors. Furthermore, one new addition to the Skittles family will keep fans guessing all season long.
The intrigue is courtesy of an upcoming variety called Skittles Imposters. Each bag of these sugary morsels is filled with candies that boast inside flavors that don’t match the color of the treat’s outside shell. In other words, popping a red Skittle in your mouth won’t result in a burst of strawberry or wild cherry flavor, but it could mean that you’re in for some orange or raspberry notes instead. Imposters indeed!
Another one of the new varieties coming this summer is Skittles Freeze Pop. As their name suggests, these candies were created with refreshing popsicles in mind. Flavors in this pack include blue raspberry and lemon.
