Alicia Witt is an American actress, singer-songwriter, and pianist. She began her career as a child actor after being discovered by David Lynch, who cast her in the film Dune (1984) and in the television series Twin Peaks (1990–1991). Witt subsequently had leading roles in several films and television series throughout the late 1980s and early to mid-1990s.
In 1992, she appeared in Afterglow opposite Nick Nolte. The following year, she co-starred with Jeff Bridges in the sci-fi film Hot Shots! Part Deux. In 1994, she played a leading role in Fun, directed by Rafal Zielinski. The same year, she also had a supporting role in the black comedy The Upside of Anger, opposite Joan Allen and Kevin Costner.
Witt had a recurring role on the television series Cybill (1995–1998), for which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination. She also appeared in the films Bongwater (1998) and Two Weeks Notice (2002). In 2004, she starred in the TV movie The Last Time I Committed Suicide opposite Thomas Jane.
